Synopsis
"Brilliantly acted...More timely than ever" -Leonard Maltin

A spaceship lands in Washington, D.C., capturing the attention of the world. But the alien emissary (Michael Rennie) it brings refuses to reveal his mission to any single government, leaving the military, the politicians, and millions of ordinary people to wait in fear. Soon their distrust turns to calls for violence. But one young woman and her son (Patricia Neal, Billy Gray) befriend him...and soon realize that they may be all that stands between the human race and total destruction.

Sci-Fi has almost from the beginning been used to depict moral, social and political problems in a fashion that is more acceptable to the public and the powers that be. What would be too 'in your face' if presented as straight commentary is somehow more palatable when cloaked in the boundless imagination of science fic   more >>

Ageless - 4.5 out of 5  (3/10/2003)
i love sci-fi and this movie does it all without cutting edge effects. the interviews gave me a better appreciation of the film. the film restoration is also fantastic. story line isn't insulting to my intelligence like most current sci-fi films are.   more >>
